Sick Days

The Globe & Mail recently did an article on fhard to believe sick day excuses. A couple of the best: “Employee phoned in sick from a bar at 5 p.m. the night before.” “Employee said a cow broke into her home and she had to wait for the insurance man”. Whether the excuses are outrageous or real, recent studies are indicating two types of behaviour – some people are taking more sick time and other people are not taking sick time they should – both related to the volatile economy and how different people react to the stress.
