Earnings Up

Average Weekly Earnings

In May, average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees rose by 3.7% from May 2009 to $848.45  In Alberta that change was 4.4%.   It is important to note that average weekly earnings include overtime pay, provide a snapshot of a particular week as compared to the same week in the previous year.  These numbers should not be seen as indicative of annual average salary/wage increases.   They may coincidentally end up that way; they also may not.
